About Julia Emilo Painted Gourds
Julia is a self taught artist, she works from her home in East Middlebury Vermont. Throughout her life she's always cultivated her "creative gene" and dabbled in many mediums. In 1990 she began painting gourd ornaments and selling them in a small display case at the Waybury Inn. Because of their popularity, she started the jury process to become a vendor at the Vermont State Craft Centers, from there, gained the confidence to apply to other galleries as well as Art and Craft Shows throughout Vermont. Now her ornaments can be found throughout New England and beyond!
When she's not working on her craft, her favorite things in life are, her husband Bryon, spending time with their kids and their families, hiking with their labs and enjoying a little golf in the summer!
Thanks for visiting my site and have a "gourd" day!
The Gourd:
Each gourd is dried, cleaned and hand painted. All of my original designs are finished with a non toxic clear coat for a durable satin finish that will last for years of enjoyment.
Although I try to keep my ornaments consistent and a true likeness to the photos, because of the gourds organic nature, they will vary slightly in size and shape, in addition, each one is individually hand painted so your sure to receive a "one of a kind" piece!
